Hoping Saline will go home today! She's feeling well, not hooked up to any IV's or tubes or anything anymore and as always in great spirits. She's on a soft diet for a while, but enjoyed a Slurpee last night and a tough game of Go Fish!!!! Thanks to all who kept her busy the last almost 2 weeks with visits in the hospital! ... Good Afternoon! Saline Update!! Our wonder girl is doing well. Stony Brook staff is managing any discomfort she is experiencing very well. Her nurses are awesome! And as of yesterday she is on the regular pediatrics floor. Hopefully soon she will be able to start having some liquids and very soft foods! Saline is used to this as she has had multiple surgeries over the years focused in and around her mouth. The challenge once she is able to being eating, will be finding tasty foods that are soft enough, but her host families always somehow manage to pull it off! She is in great spirits and always positive, quite the trooper!! For those visiting, she won't be able to have any outside food. Her dominant arm is in a splint which restricts her bending it so she's not really able to use it for any sort of activity at this point. She has been catching up on her TV watching and trying to get some well deserved rest!! Thank you to all of the volunteers that have spent time with Saline in the hospital, especially Courtney who has been there with her everyday at one point or another. ... See MoreSee Less
